THE FOOTBALL GAME RULES of the GAME:
- Set the goal chairs up 40 feet apart (suggested). Make it a bit further if you think you’re pros.
- Teammates play on the same side. You can play 1 on 1 or up to 4 on 4. You can play unequal teams based on the skill of the players. For example, 1 on left and 3 on right. Maintain at least 1 on each side for 2 or more sized teams.
POINT SCORING:
A throw into the basket scores a Touchdown of 6 points
A throw that hits any part of the chair, including the uprights is 3 points (A Completion)
DEFENSE: If the defending team catches the ball after the bounce they can take a knee for 3 points. The ball must hit the chair first and cannot be a caused deflection by the defense. The other option is to risk it and return the ball back. If the defense returns the ball, they can come to play. They are downed where they two-hand touched. Then they get to throw the ball towards the chair for points with one Attempt.
If playing 2 on 2, 3 on 3, or 4 on 4 the Offense and Defense players can come to play by blocking or or making lateral pitches.
AFTER SCORING A TOUCHDOWN:
Kick the ball from the tee. If the ball goes through the uprights its 1 point. If the ball lands in the bucket its called a “FITZ”. This is an instant WIN for the kicking team. Then it’s GAME OVER.
If the KICK is wide to the right or left, then the ball is in play. The Defense can catch and return the ball. (Determining when the player is down is the same rules as for the Interception Return above).
WINNING TEAM: A team must score 54 points to win, and they have to win by 2 points.
THE FOOTBALL GAME HAIL MARY:
If your team is down by more than 8 points, you can step back the number of steps equal to how many points you are behind when throwing for your Attempt. If you get the ball into the bucket, you WIN. Your team will then carry you off the field on their shoulders screaming of the victory.
